Defeat internet censorship by using UltraSurf
If you are browsing this article from a country like US and Canada, you are extremely lucky, since these countries do not censor internet traffic. Censorship takes away the freedom to post to blogs, to visit websites with information that might be deemed dangerous to "national security". This article discusses a great free product that lets you surf with avoiding this kind of heavy internet censorship. We will show a step by step install and usage tutorial and you can be up and running in less that five minutes.
Besides avoiding heavy handed censorship, the UltraSurf utility has many other benefits. You can use this for privacy, it will hide your real ip address and will let you surf the web with a randomly assigned anonymous IP address. Another benefit is that it uses completely transparent data transfer with high encryption, providing safety, specially useful if you are using public Wi-Fi hotspots. Rest assured, you can be comfortable thinking that UltraSurf has been in operation from last six years, has millions of users and conducts a daily traffic over 5 Terabytes
Here is how to download, install and use Ultrasurf :
- Before you use UltraSurf, we recommend that you go to the http://whatismyip.com/ website and check what is being shown as your real ip before using UltraSurf.
- Download UltraSurf from its website at http://www.ultrareach.com/
- Extract the u94.exe file from the zip file to a folder (eg; C:\temp\ultrasurf)
- Launch UltraSurf by double clicking on the u94.exe file. (Caution some anti-virus programs may tag this as a threat)
- UltraSurf will launch and the window shown on the left here will show up. You do not need to change anything, just simply minimize this window for now
- You can check what your new IP address is by going to the http://whatismyip.com/ website, this IP address is what others will see you coming from, and is different from your real IP address.

Thanks for your comment, I have actually done an article about HotSpot Shield before, you can read it at http://indiawebsearch.com/content/how-to-watch-movies-and-tv-on-hulu-fro... , did you know that HotSpot Shield will let you browse Hulu from places outside of USA ?
With UltraSurf being tagged as Malware, I did post a warning in my post, it just detected as a threat, but is not really. Not all virus scanners pick it up as a threat either.
I have not checked out NotMyIP yet, but will give that a try later sometimes..
