How to type in Hindi on FaceBook and Twitter

Step 1: -  Go to Google Labs online Transliteration service at http://www.google.com/transliterate#

Step 2: - Type in your text and don't worry about correcting the mistakes in transliteration for now

Step 3: -  Click on a word that you think did not get converted properly, Google will give you other choices to replace the word with

Step 4: -  You can highlight the converted text and format it right there, formatting includes Bold, italicizing, font size, font type, text justification (left, centered or right), a dictionary feature that lets you translate from one language to other and vice versa

Your transliterated text is now available to you and you can copy and paste this in any online application such as FaceBook, Twitter, Flicker etc or any Word Processor too. That's how you can type in Hindi on FaceBook or Twitter using Goolge Labs Transliteration Tool.

There are some advantages for one tool over the other. For Example, Microsoft's Indic Language tool will let you type and edit your own words in the desired language, it also offers a bookmarklet for Internet Explorer, using which you can transliterate on any web page.
