What is Microsoft Location Finder

Microsoft Location Finder is a software that lets you use only your wi-fi (wireless) enabled laptop or computer to become a "location aware" device and it would then put the geographical location of your laptop on MSN Virtual Earth map.

A lot of other handheld devices such as Blackberry have a system similar but those devices usually need the device to be GPS enabled. The cool thing about Microsoft location Finder is that you do not need any additional device, just your wi-fi enabled laptop or PC. It uses the "Wi-Fi access points" to determine your geographical location. If for some reason it can not find a known access point to locate you, it uses reverse DNS to look at your IP address and determine your closest location.

The software is free for download from Microsoft available at http://www.microsoft.com/DownLoads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5a588766-3697-4906-a239-f4222c91e324&displaylang=en
